Lilypie First Birthday tickers

♥ twenty-something... ♥

being twenty-something - they call it "Quarter-life Crisis". it is when u stop going along with the crowd & start realizing that there are many things about urself that u didn't know & u may not like it.

u start feeling insecure & wonder where u will be in a year or two, but then get scared because u barely know where u are now.
u start realizing that people are selfish & that maybe, those friends that u thought u were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people u have ever met, & the people that u have lost touch with are some of the important ones. what u don't recognise is that they are realizing that too, & aren't really cold, catty, mean or insecure, but that they are as confused as you.

u look at your job ... & it is not even close to what u thought u would be doing, or maybe u are looking for a job & realizing that u are going to have a start at the bottom & that scares u.
ur opinions have gotten stronger. u see what others are doing & find urself judging more than usual because suddenly u realize that u have certain boundaries in ur life & are constantly adding things to ur list of what is acceptable & what isn't.

one minute, u are insecure & then the next, secure.u laugh & cry with greatest force of ur life. u feel alone & scared & confused. suddenly, change is the enemy & u try & cling on the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further & further away, & there is nothing to do but stay where u are or move forward.

u go through the same emotions & questions over & over, & talk with ur friends about the same topics because cannot seem to make a decision. u worry about loans, money, the future & making a life for ur life ... & while winning the race would be great, right now u'd just like to be a contender!
what u may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. we are in our best of times & our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.

"life is not measure by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"
it's really amazing when two strangers become the best of friends, but it is really sad when the best of friends become two strangers.
